What is the Difference Between Ultherapy and Profound Procedures?

Both Ultherapy and Profound are non-invasive skin tightening procedures – so how are they different? The technique used to tighten skin is what makes each procedure unique. Ultherapy uses ultrasound and Profound uses radio frequency and micro-needling.

During Ultherapy, ultrasound technology is used to see below the surface of the skin and specifically target the deep, foundational layer of tissue typically addressed in surgery. An applicator is placed upon your skin and used to deliver low levels of focused heat to just the right depth below the skin to deliver, which stimulates the growth of new collagen. A gradual tightening and firming occurs, resulting in a natural lift of the skin over time.

During a Profound procedure, radiofrequency energy and micro-needling are used to tighten and tone skin at the deepest dermis level. In addition to heating and tightening the dermis, Profound triggers the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid.

Ultherapy and Profound are both excellent for candidates who want tighter and firmer-looking skin without going through the expense or downtime associated with surgery. Both treatments stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin.
